The 2020 Ryder Cup will take place at Whistling Straits, September 24 - 26, 2021. Cassy Tully, whose sports and lifestyle paintings are collected internationally, created artwork featuring the vibrant gallery and first tee, where the drama of match play commences. Whistling Straits, known as one of the greatest championship courses in the United States, hosted the 2004, 2010 and 2015 PGA Championships.
Cassy’s original painting created for the Ryder Cup features a birds’-eye view of signature holes #9 and #18 with the clubhouse in the background, anchored by the shimmering waters of Lake Michigan. The painting is also available in an 18 X 24” poster, printed on fine art paper. Cassy will be in the Championship Shop throughout the Ryder Cup signing and personalizing posters.
“My artwork celebrates the Ryder Cup by capturing the energy of the event paired with the iconic character of Whistling Straits,” Cassy said. “My golf art provides golf enthusiasts with the opportunity to bring home the memories of this prestigious event.”
Whistling Straits was crafted by the late hall-of-fame designer Pete Dye, and ranked among the best in the United States. Cassy’s paintings depict the drama and rugged grandeur of Dye’s design through her signature relief-painting technique. She utilizes acrylic gel mediums and sand from the golf course to manipulate paint like clay, increasing the level of relief and illusion of perspective. Each painting is a true masterpiece.
